Duffin's Donuts - 41st & Knight

I am a food snob. That realization dawns on me - that I'm downright picky in what and where I eat. That's the only thing I can think of after eating at this place. It's part of the Duffin's Donut franchise but there's such a mish-mash of food styles here, you don't know what's what. Trying to be all things to all people. There's just no focus.

You can have donuts with your coffee or with chinese food or how about a mexican torte or a vietnamese sub sandwich. I've heard of fusion but this is ridiculous. This is a restaurant, not a food court.

Maybe it was the fact that we ate there after finishing hockey at 1 am that framed my frown. It's opened all night long so the slow turnaound meant that the chinese food was only a couple hours old. I ended up ordering the vietnamese chicken torte for $3.50. It was OK.

This place could be an acquired taste and it's probably different in the morning.

Comments:
Why shouldn't there be fusion food, just as there is fusion music? Seeing as we are becoming more of a multi-ethnic multi-cultural society, is not fusion food the food of the future, as is fusion music?

Speaking of fusion music, have you listened yet to the CD that Mark Knopfler and Emmy Lou Harris just brought out - "All The Road Running", that is a fusion of folk with country and western?

Remember, FUSION is the wave of the future, whether in food, music, literature, or the arts.

Like Grease, FUSION is the word!!!
