The Keg - Ironwood Mall, Richmond

Maybe it was the pre-Mother's Day crowd but, man was it ever busy and loud at the Keg on a Saturday night. Haven't been to a Keg in over a year. Last time was for a dinner before a stag and that happened twice within weeks.

Over the din of the nine family members at our table, I ordered the filet mignon wrapped with bacon. Don't ever remember ordering it specifically before, but of course, I've had it many times. When it arrived, it looked kinda... small. $25.95 plus potato with all the fixings. I should have ordered the prime rib.

The starter escargots were nice. As was the beer - old reliable Kokanee.

Comments:
Few of us realize that Mother’s Day was a creation of Madison Avenue, whose executives played adroitly on our feelings of guilt. I mean, who but an absolute heel wouldn’t want to buy Mom a present, or take her out to lunch on something called Mother’s Day, no matter how factitious.

If you love your Mom, shouldn’t you treat EVERY day as Mother’s Day?

Regarding your next meal,

Why are we waiting?
Why are we waiting?
Why are we wai-ting?
Why why why?
Why are we waiting?
Why are we wai-ting?
Oh why are we waiting?
Oh why are we waiting?
Oh why are we wai-ting?
Why why why?
